The Misak or Guambianos are an original American people who live in the south of Colombia in the department of Cauca. Their original Guambìa Major Reservation is in the municipality of Silvia and they also live in other nearby places, in the Central Cordillera of the Colombian Andes. In order to gain access to arable land, some have emigrated to found new reservations in Cauca itself, and in the departments of Huila, Cundinamarca, Caquetà, Putumayo, Valle del Cauca and Meta.
